Dr. Paul Gaitan

Philosophy of Care
Ask anyone about Dr. Paul Gaitan and they will tell you, “he listens, he cares, and he is gentle.” Passionate about medicine and delivering healthcare to all, Dr. Gaitan believes “every patient, no matter their background, deserve quality healthcare.”

Background
Dr. Gaitan was born and grew up in the Phoenix area with dreams of being a firefighter or paramedic. When he finished high school, he joined the Airforce. During his service to our country, Dr. Gaitan experienced a knee injury that changed his career path. Following knee surgery, Dr Gaitan was curious about anatomy and the surgeon encouraged him to study medicine. Dr. Gaitan found his passion, the practice of Medicine. Dr. Gaitan graduated Magnum Cum Laude from Grand Canyon University with his Bachelor of Science and headed off to medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry where he graduated as an Anesthesiologist in 2004. Dr. Gaitan is Board Certified in Anesthesiology.

Why anesthesiology?
Dr. Gaitan explained that he likes building trust with patients and this specialty gives him the opportunity to get to know every patient and help alleviate patients back pain.

What do you believe your biggest impact on a patient is?
I like to listen, relate, establish trust and make each patient feel at ease.

Where have you worked?
Dr. Gaitan spent the last ten years at Laser Spine Institute in Scottsdale helping thousands of patients in his role of Physician of Diagnostics treating patients in pain with spinal pathology, such as spinal stenosis or herniated discs. In June of 2019, Dr. Gaitan began working with Pain Stop Clinics to help more patients suffering from back pain.

A Family Man with a Sense of Community
Dr. Gaitan is a warm and endearing person. He has been married to the love of his life, Lisa, for 29 years. They have two daughters and a son. Dr. Gaitan has volunteered for medical missionary trips and continues to be involved in the Phoenix community.
